Utility Bill & Services Breakdown
rates beginning April 1, 2026
WATER SERVICE: $63.83
Water supply from the City's three municipal well sites is treated and pumped to two 500,000 gallon storage tanks then delivered to customers through the distribution system. The water service rate includes a base fee for water consumption up to 700 cubic feet of water per month. Once consumption exceeds 700 cubic feet, the overage charge is $4.14 per 100 cubic feet up to 10,000. 1cubic ft = 7.48 gallons.
WASTEWATER SERVICE: $99.74
The City owns, maintains and services all on-site septic tanks on customer property within the City limits. The tanks are connected to the municipal wastewater collections system that transports the liquid waste to the City's wastewater treatment plant at the north end of the City. Solid wastes are pumped from the tanks based on a schedule and prior usage history. Wastewater rates are a single monthly base fee based on a calculation of each customer's Equivalent Dwelling Unit (EDU). The EDU calculation is reset each year based on prior year water consumption within the winter months as the most accurate assessment of monthly flow to the wastewater treatment system.
TRANSPORTATION FEE (TUF): $7.34
This fee was established in 2021 to provide a source of funds dedicated to the maintenance and repair of the City's transportation system, primarily roadway surfaces, but also including storm drain facilities, sidewalk repairs, signage, etc. The TUF fee is a base fee for residential and is a calculated fee for non-residential based on estimated traffic trip counts of the business type of the account.
TREE FEE: $2.00
Established in 2007, this fee provides a source of funds to manage the inventory of trees located on and near public rights-of-way. Typical use of these funds include major branch trimming (preventative), tree removal, tree planting and emergency clean up from tree damage.
PARKS & OPEN SPACE FEE: $5.00
Established in 2025, this fee augments general fund revenues (property tax, franchise fees, etc) to maintain the City's five parks and open space/trail system. This Parks Fee supports landscape and irrigation maintenance, restroom facilities maintenance, playground equipment maintenance and repair and other parks system infrastructure.
PUBLIC SAFETY SUPPORT FEE: $20.00 (beggining July 1, 2026)
