My Driving Record
Will it appear on my driving record?
- Yes. The Court is required to submit all convictions to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) upon conviction.
About Suspensions
The Court will request that the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) suspend your driving privileges for these reasons:
- Failure to appear for arraignment. The Court allows a fourteen-day grace period to take action on a citation. You may be suspended on the fourteenth day.
-
Failure to appear for a court trial or other hearing date. There is no grace period for court trials. You can be suspended the same day.
Once the court has requested that DMV suspend your driving privileges, the citation must be paid in full and there is an additional $15 suspension fee per citation. When the matter is cleared with the court, the court will fax a notification to the DMV to remove the hold on your license.
