Noxious Vegetation Season is June 1st-October 30th!

The City encourages residents and businesses to do their part and maintain vegetation growth on and around their property this summer season.  It keeps Coburg looking sharp, decreases fire risk and avoids follow up notices and enforcement from the City.

City's Ordinance A-108-J states: "Between June 1 and October 30, no owner or person in charge of real property shall allow noxious vegetation on the property or in the right of way of a public thoroughfare abutting the property."

If the City Administrator decides that a nuisance creates an imminent threat, an abatement notice will be mailed to the responsible person or owner, or posted on the premises or site of the nuisance, with the expected actions to be taken.

  • weeds and grass more than 10 inches high
  • vegetation that is, or is likely to become, a health hazard, fire hazard, or traffic hazard because it impairs the view of the public thoroughfare, or otherwise makes use of the thoroughfare hazardous
  • poison oak
  • blackberry bushes, bamboo, or ivy that extends into a public right-of-way, a pathway frequented by children, crosses a property line, or that is used for habitation by trespassers

For more information please see Ordinance A-108-J. To file a citizen inquiry or noxious vegetation concern, please fill out our citizen inquiry form here.
